Ecotone Vineyard, Napa Valley

A unique property, the 30-year-old Ecotone Vineyard is a secret garden hidden in its own valley between the famed Howell Mountain and St. Helena AVAs. We became familiar with this 22-acre site, formerly named “Thorevilos Vineyard,” when it was planted and controlled by David Abreu, our vineyard manager for 10 years at the Eisele Vineyard. We were greatly impressed with the consistency and quality of the wines produced by David and Ric Forman, all on par with the exceptional wines we were able to produce at the Eisele Vineyard.

Now leased by Jack Bittner and farmed by the Bettinelli family, the vineyard has been renamed “Ecotone Vineyard”, by definition a location where two plant communities transition into one another and create a singular biome. We are privileged to source both Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from this distinctive terroir. These wines exude power, density and structure, and bring opulence and weight to our blend.
