After searching for an optimum source of Cabernet Franc for our Accendo blend, in 2018 our winemaker Nigel Kinsman introduced us to this vineyard on top of Diamond Mountain which recently had changed hands. Originally known as Reverie Estate, this 30-acre vineyard was planted to vine in 1989 and became the source for that highly regarded brand. The vines are embedded in decomposed volcanic ash on a terraced slope, and the wine brings incredible power and opulence to the blend, accompanied by a heady perfume of violets. The palate is lush with excellent weight, while retaining all the hallmarks of Diamond Mountain tannin – fine, plentiful and dusty.
